I thought that I would explain to you what a Capsule Wardrobe is.
A Capsule Wardrobe is
There are many types of capsule wardrobes, the fundamentals are to pick a number of clothing. It could be anywhere from 5-30 pieces. Then pick a length of time you’d like to wear them anywhere from 7-90 days. And lastly wear them! The idea is to wear the pieces you choose for the length of time you choose in different ways. You get to dress up or down. Wear it casual or formal. It’s fun to see how many different outfits you can make with just a few pieces of clothing.
Why should you do a capsule wardrobe?
Most clothes you will purchase will get less than 30 wears in its lifetime. This challenge is not only to raise awareness but to help you get the most out of your clothes and encourage everyone to #wearitagain
Why am I doing a capsule wardrobes?
There are some pieces in my closet that I haven’t worn in a while and I don’t even own that many clothes. It’s also great practice since I want to travel lighter in the future, like carry on only for trips over a week long #travelingminimalist. The end goal is to one day own less than 100 pieces of clothes. Right now I’m at less than 150. This doesn’t mean that I never buy clothes again but it does mean that I won’t hoard clothes that I have no interest in wearing. For me, Capsule Wardrobes are more about exploring my closet rather than giving myself a strict challenge
Which capsule wardrobe do I pick?
I created my own capsule using @Project333 as a foundation.
“Project333 is the minimalist fashion challenge that invites you to dress with 33 items (including clothes, shoes, jewellery and accessories) for 3 months.”
What pieces do I pick?
I try to keep my capsule less than 20 pieces. In the ones I’ve done so far, I find myself taking pieces out or swapping them with other pieces until I get the style I’m going for.
What length of time do I pick?
I usually do a capsule wardrobe for a season, 3 months, or when traveling.

This are the categories I usually have:
|Base layers||Outerwear||One Pieces||Tops||Bottoms||Shoes||Bag(s)||Wants|
I made a wants section because I usually have a piece would like to add but I don’t own it. I have an article, Buying as a Minimalist, coming soon.
As I said before I do capsule wardrobes to explore my closet and also to take stock of the pieces I’m not loving anymore. The capsules I have done have helped me to expand and develop my own sense of fashion.
